Alejandra Romero moved to Garden City, KS when I was a about 5 years old. Garden City quickly became my home. Alejandra had the opportunity to meet incredible teachers who till this day stay in touch with me and my family. Ms. Romero graduated Garden City High School and almost immediately left to pursue a career at Kansas State University. She graduated with a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering. During my time at K-State, was a member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), and met incredible people who made an impact on my life. It was a tough road but with the help of K-state staff and professors, friends, and family it was an unforgettable one. After graduation, she moved to Oskaloosa, Iowa to work for Cargill corn milling as a Project Engineer. Alejandra worked on projects ranging from $100K to $1MM. I saw incredible projects being completed and I found myself in “awe” at some of the things that get accomplished at a manufacturing plant. Alejandra was able to learn a lot about the corn milling process and about the culture at a food manufacturing plant. Cargill gave me the opportunity to grow as an engineer but also as a person. Alejandra stated that she is grateful for the opportunity they gave me to work for them. I came full circle when I decided to move back to Garden City, KS to be with family. She literally opened the door to GCAP and found an exciting opportunity to work with a group of people who are dedicated to their job. Alejandra looks to the future and is extremely excited being part of the GCAP team! We are GCAP are glad to bring her on to the team!!! Welcome!
